So \u00a0wen to Fandom Fest \u00a0in Louisville, KY \u00a0 July 26th – 28th. \u00a0 \u00a0Had a good time \u00a0, \u00a0met lots of great people. \u00a0 Not to mention met my idol \u00a0 freaking STAN LEE!!!! \u00a0 The whole point I went was to get to gimps him. \u00a0 \u00a0The event for me was good because I came in to help Stephen with the Lit Track. \u00a0 \u00a0That all went well expect the owners \u00a0didn’t put anything in the program for him, nothing on the site, nothing on the maps. \u00a0Made it as if it didn’t even exist. \u00a0Crappy if you ask me. \u00a0 \u00a0I don’t know them but \u00a0just from this past year \u00a0they don’t apear to be people i’d want anything to do with.<\/p>\n
There was so many people at one point the fire Marshall came in and \u00a0shut the con down. \u00a0Crazy again. \u00a0 \u00a0 8 hour long lines to meet \u00a0Norman Reedus, crazy. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The whole photo OP thing was a mess. \u00a0No organisation to it what so ever. \u00a0If i was some of the people \u00a0I would of been in jail for bashing heads. \u00a0 \u00a0 So many people done dirty. \u00a0 \u00a0There still trying to make things right even 2-3 weeks later.<\/p>\n
So \u00a0 Met the \u00a0chic from Chasing Amy and Mall Rats, \u00a0 Dante from Clerks, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Dude from warehouse13 Eddie McClintock, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0John Barrowman from DrWho and Torchwood… That was very kewl too. \u00a0He was super nice. \u00a0 Met \u00a0Colin Baker \u00a0man so many its unreal. \u00a0 All very nice people.<\/p>\n
The celebs at the con were even treated badly. \u00a0 Colin Baker tells me \u00a0they left him in his room forgot about him. \u00a0 When he was there \u00a0they told him no fans showed up for photo ops or Q&A \u00a0 \u00a0but the fans were told he cancelled. \u00a0He was not a happy camper and couldn’t wait to get out of there and fly home to Britten. \u00a0 His own words. \u00a0Talked to him a good 15min. Very nice guy. \u00a0 John Barrowman was blamed a few times \u00a0he got on stage told people its the owners fault, and if they tried to screw anyone out of money to DEMAND A REFUND. \u00a0Not to mention they left him at the Airport . \u00a0He was even on Facebook going \u00a0“Wheres my ride, guess im forgotten. Will i get there?”<\/p>\n
I doubt i’ll go again. \u00a0I can’t think of anyone i’d like to meet as much as Stan Lee. \u00a0 Yea there are some i’d like to meet, but him. \u00a0He was it, the big golden banana. \u00a0Surely no one can top that. \u00a0 Last year I went for Bruce Campbell. \u00a0But Stan is the Man.<\/p>\n
May just be sticking to the Nashville con for now on. \u00a0 Hotel to expensive an all.<\/p>\n
Going to be something special in the works thoe for the future I hope. \u00a0 I’m not saying NO to any cons in KY. \u00a0 There is at least one \u00a0i’ll be working at and going to \u00a0 next year. \u00a0Just not in the summer and hopefully not Fandom again.
