So wen to Fandom Fest in Louisville, KY July 26th – 28th. Had a good time , met lots of great people. Not to mention met my idol freaking STAN LEE!!!! The whole point I went was to get to gimps him. The event for me was good because I came in to help Stephen with the Lit Track. That all went well expect the owners didn’t put anything in the program for him, nothing on the site, nothing on the maps. Made it as if it didn’t even exist. Crappy if you ask me. I don’t know them but just from this past year they don’t apear to be people i’d want anything to do with.
There was so many people at one point the fire Marshall came in and shut the con down. Crazy again. 8 hour long lines to meet Norman Reedus, crazy. The whole photo OP thing was a mess. No organisation to it what so ever. If i was some of the people I would of been in jail for bashing heads. So many people done dirty. There still trying to make things right even 2-3 weeks later.
So Met the chic from Chasing Amy and Mall Rats, Dante from Clerks, Dude from warehouse13 Eddie McClintock, John Barrowman from DrWho and Torchwood… That was very kewl too. He was super nice. Met Colin Baker man so many its unreal. All very nice people.
The celebs at the con were even treated badly. Colin Baker tells me they left him in his room forgot about him. When he was there they told him no fans showed up for photo ops or Q&A but the fans were told he cancelled. He was not a happy camper and couldn’t wait to get out of there and fly home to Britten. His own words. Talked to him a good 15min. Very nice guy. John Barrowman was blamed a few times he got on stage told people its the owners fault, and if they tried to screw anyone out of money to DEMAND A REFUND. Not to mention they left him at the Airport . He was even on Facebook going “Wheres my ride, guess im forgotten. Will i get there?”
I doubt i’ll go again. I can’t think of anyone i’d like to meet as much as Stan Lee. Yea there are some i’d like to meet, but him. He was it, the big golden banana. Surely no one can top that. Last year I went for Bruce Campbell. But Stan is the Man.
May just be sticking to the Nashville con for now on. Hotel to expensive an all.
Going to be something special in the works thoe for the future I hope. I’m not saying NO to any cons in KY. There is at least one i’ll be working at and going to next year. Just not in the summer and hopefully not Fandom again. It was a cluster fest…. or is that Fandom Fuck?
